What is Success 2

Last week we addressed a few older concepts on the meaning of success.

Current thinking is that successful people are more interested in the challenge and the journey, rather than the outcome.

Many believe that success is knowing that you did your best to become the best that you could be.

My grammar school motto was *The best is yet to be*. The continuous quest to improve yourself often leads to a greater sense of satisfaction.

As the famous General, George S. Patton said, * If a man has done his best, what else is there? *

What is Success?

What makes a person successful?

In Europe, for many centuries, it was the social class you were born into which determined your success and position in life.

In other countries, it is an accepted fact that intelligence and diligence are the major factors in a person’s success.
Intelligence was believed to come from our genes, so we either thanked or blamed our parents.

Study and hard work, we were told, would lead to a life of comfort and wealth.

What do recent developments from Neuroscience tell us about these beliefs?
